Title: Quality Control Technician
Contract: 6 Months
Location: Somerset, NJ 08873
Job Summary:
Performs quality inspection and testing of raw materials and outgoing finished products, completing all necessary administrative, control, and compliance requirements.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions:
Responsible for raw material, in-process and finished good testing. Ensures that appropriate test methods are followed,and measurements are performed accurately. Maintains retain system for raw materials and finished goods.
Accurately records the results of all testing and determines whether results are within acceptable specification limits. Makes determination to conditionally approve, rework or reject materials not meeting specification. Issues Rejection Form and Material Disposition Request (MDR). Conducts bench experiments as directed by the QC Supervisor.
Prepares required documents (MSDS/COA/Spec Sheet) and responds to internal and external requests for documentation in a timely manner.
Responsible for all equipment and ensures proper working condition by performing preventive maintenance, calibration and verification as required
Maintains a clean and safe working area and follows safety practices including the use of safety glasses, gloves, etc., as required.
Works with Perfumery and Purchasing Departments to evaluate samples from potential new raw material suppliers.
Non-essential Responsibilities and Functions:
Assists in the Customer Complaint Process: logging, investigation and development of corrective actions.
Writes Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
Assists Quality Manager with internal audits.
Additional Job Competencies / Job Relationships / Specialized Skills
Ability to operate analytical equipment
Good olfactive sense.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree preferred in Chemistry or related Science
1-2 years lab experience; QC experience in a fragrance environment preferred
Strong math and computer skills
Attention to details, ability to follow-through, observant, accuracy in weights and measures
