Quality Control Technician - 3rd Shift
Duties
The Quality Control Technician is a key member of CP FlexiblePackaging's manufacturing, quality management team. The role is responsible forensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet our stringent qualityspecifications. This role assists the Quality Manager by helping to lead andsupport a staff of Quality Control Technicians, working on all shifts. ThePlant runs on a 24/7 basis.
The ultimate goal of this role is tohelp the Plant to minimize waste, improve productivity on the production lineand ensure that customers receive products that are fit for use.
Role
To prepareinspection plans and instructions, select sampling plan applications, analyzeand solve problems, prepare procedures, train inspectors and perform audits.
Processes
Quality controltechnicians help develop processes and procedures for Quality Control. Theydecide the standards to be achieved, which may involve complying withrecognized systems such as the ISO 9000 -- Quality Management system publishedby the International Organization for Standardization. The QCT trains inspectors to carry out checks in line with proceduresand audit their work to ensure they comply with the standards. If they identifyproblems, they recommend improvements.
Data
Collecting theright data is essential to Quality Control. This role helps to definestatistical techniques, determine what data needs to be collected throughinspection or process monitoring, and analyze results. Interprets the data toidentify problems or trends as a basis for planning remedial action.
Inspection
The Quality ControlTechnician may at times, personally carry out some of the inspections and/oroversee the work of Quality Control inspectors. This role insures that incomingraw materials, components or supplies meet agreed standards by carrying outroutine inspections and rejecting unsuitable items. It also performs a widerange of controlled tests on products at various stages of the manufacturingprocess. Tests include visual inspection or non-destructive testing todetermine conformance with the product's specification.
Prevention
The Quality ControlTechnicians plan corrective and preventive actions to maintain qualitystandards and carry out different types of analyses, including root causeanalysis and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify the source ofproblems. QCTs prepare reports and recommendations to deal with any issues thatarise.
