The Opportunity
Precious Plate is hiring a Quality Control Technician to join our team. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for the testing and disposition of finished goods in accordance with PPI & ISO/TS requirements. This is a full-time position, working from 6pm – 6am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, reporting to the Quality Control Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspection and testing of plated product according to requirements
- Testing includes use of X-ray Fluorescence equipment, Comparator, Toolmaker’s microscope, micrometers and verniers
- Final product release, take appropriate action on non-conforming materials
- Identify/label “Non-conforming” product and quarantine appropriately in accordance with applicable work instructions and practices
- Address deviations, make appropriate decisions, communicate same to QA Supervisor
- Catalog and store material retention samples in accordance with applicable work instructions and practices
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail oriented work environment
- Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to identify and communicate quality problems to supervisor
- Math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to work independently and perform cooperatively with others
- Ability to hear, see, occasionally bend, stoop and kneel, stand for 8 to 12 hours per day, and push, pull or lift up to 50lbs as needed to perform essential job functions
- Basic computer knowledge
- Manual dexterity needed to perform some job functions
Working Conditions
- Regularly works with chemical solutions
- Environment may be high temperatures depending on ambient outside temperature
- Safety glasses, steel or composite toe boots, and hearing protection required
- Other PPE may be required depending on responsibilities
- Could be exposed to background noise, odors, or dust
