Job Description
V1 Fiber is seeking an experienced, Quality Control Inspector to support the project teams on deployment of telecommunications-related projects across the United States.
The main purpose of this field position is to ensure the quality installation, acceptance, and restoration/clean-up of all fiber optic construction projects V1 Fiber is responsible. Coordination is required with all construction and fiber placement personnel, both internal and external, to ensure they are producing a quality product for our customers’ networks.

Responsibilities
- Be able to read and update construction drawings.
- Prepare regular interval inspection reports as required by the project manager.
- Monitor and report on substandard performance and work quality on site.
- Perform all work duties in a safe fashion, and complete work with outstanding quality meeting or exceeding customer standards.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with V1 Fiber construction standards, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for projects and appropriate closeout documents are distributed in a timely manner in accordance with corporate and customer standards.
- Ensure that all inspection documents and accompanying photos are maintained in GIS database COLLECTOR.
- Perform daily job site safety inspections of all crews and maintain documentation accordingly.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in civil construction and field projects.
- Demonstrated success in working with local A&E firms, drawing reviews & redline, and with project managers for reporting and ad hoc project requirements.
- Solid knowledge of best practices relative to underground fiber optic cable installation and grounding.
- Must be knowledgeable in all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements.
- Travel up to 50% of time.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must possess a valid Drivers License.
