Quality Control Inspector (Manufacturing)

TITLE: Quality Control Inspector

LOCATION: Charlotte, NC (Steele Creek)

SCHEDULE: 7 PM - 7 AM (2-2-3)

PAY: $17.00 - $18.00/hour (plus OT)

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for continuously monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing products or materials. The primary task includes conducting tests, analyzing measurements, and monitoring the Quality of all products and processes.

Essential Functions: Daily activities and/or duties of the Quality Control Inspection shall include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors, in-process, and outgoing products prior to shipping.
• Properly identify, label, and control any non-conforming material within the designated Quality Hold Area.
• Clearly read and understand product drawings, specifications, procedures, work instructions, or any other required product and process documents.
• Properly understand, use, and maintain any required Quality Tools or gages.
• Measure required product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the product to available Quality Standards.
• Collaboratively work with all departments and associates on continuous improvements.
• Accurately and completely document all inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports.
• Lead the production environment in developing and making Quality decisions.
• Communicate any quality-related issues with the appropriate associates and departments.
• Collaboratively work together within the department to ensure additional hours or days shall be supported for other shifts as needed due to absence, vacation, bereavement, etc. This includes being notified 60 minutes before the end of their shift about the absence and covering up to 4 hours maximum of the next shift. In case the employee cannot cover for the next shift it is the supervisor’s discretion to approve the employee’s action. Deliberate action to avoid shift coverage could lead to further disciplinary action, including termination.
• Other duties assigned by the Quality Manager.

Qualification Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent qualification.
• Certification in Quality Control is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Control or as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment or a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of computers, tablets, mobile devices, and MS Office and its relevant applications.
• Proven understanding and use of math and technical skills.
• Strong understanding of Quality Control standards and testing techniques.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and roll up to 500 pounds.
• Must be self-motivated, and professional and perform assigned work without constant supervision.
• Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 is preferred.
• Must be willing to work any shift as needed.
