Position Summary:
The Quality Control Inspector will be a frontline position within the Quality Assurance Department specifically working in the Fabrication, Welding and wire Departments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate project details and specifications to appropriate manufacturing personnel.
- Assist in first piece quality verifications on projects within targeted departments.
- Performing random quality checks of items being manufactured and alert appropriate staff to any errors or inconsistencies.
- Work with Quality Assurance Manager and Department Supervisors to improve the QA process.
- Verify that all QA processes are being followed by manufacturing team and offer correction and training when appropriate.
- Understand the specific job requirements for each project being manufactured in the targeted departments. Work with Project Managers, Department Supervisors, & QA Manager to fully grasp project details. This includes understanding BOMs, finished assemblies, packaging requirements, and any shipping/delivery expectations. When necessary be willing to communicate any important information or corrections to the appropriate team members.
- Work with Manufacturing team to incorporate Lean fundamentals into the manufacturing process.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineered drawings.
- Must be comfortable incorporating technology into day to day responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- History of working with a team to accomplish organizational and departmental goals.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Able to navigate Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Experience with Manufacturing specific Quality Assurance is required.
- Experience working with LEAN is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing on production floor and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lift 30+ pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Compensation and Benefits commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
