Job Summary
At Custom Foods, we take pride in our team of Great Dough Heroes! Our facility is a high-quality, industrial, frozen dough manufacturer located in De Soto, Kansas. To keep our dough great, we have a team of Food Safety Experts auditing every batch for quality and standards. This Quality Assurance Technician will perform inspections, physical checks, various tests, and sampling of each of our many products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly scheduled line checks and report deviation to management.
- Conduct and document process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.
- Monitor critical equipment to ensure proper operation and calibration.
- Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action.
- Perform product bake off and retesting of product before shipping.
- Member of the food safety team and share responsibility of food safety throughout the plant.
- Reports deviations to both Production and Quality Assurance Managers.
- Perform line checks and document all findings accurately.
- Conduct Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) audits.
- Complete proper documentation of Critical Control Point (CCP) analysis and testing.
- Represent and generate urgency regarding company GMP policies.
- Ensure food safety, food quality and food defense.
- Perform various internal audits.
- Verify label accuracy for each product.
Environment
- Warehouse environment with additional industrial freezer components for some duties.
- Mostly standing and walking, with occasional lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
- Use of oven and safe practices in kitchen environment also expected.
Experience
- Prior food manufacturing experience a plus.
- Prior Quality Assurance experience preferred.
