Job Description
enGenius is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client. The client provides operations and maintenance support to DoD software applications and databases in an Azure Government Cloud DevOps environment. The applications are used for preparing construction planning and budgetary estimates; analyzing budget cost data during design, bid, opening, and modification estimates; and capturing contract costs for historical purposes. The primary services for the client include providing support for the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the software applications and several embedded databases and subsystems.
Responsibilities:
The QA Specialist will ensure that testing is well defined, planned and executed. The overall goal would be validating that every component of the applications have been tested and that any potential issues are identified prior to solution deployment.
- Develops Quality Assurance plans by identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring test results.
- Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating Quality Assurance procedures. Collaborates and reviews requirements documents provided by the customer.
- Provides feedback to the customer where requirements are unclear or are too vague to establish testable use cases to validate application.
- Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
- Ensures testing demonstrates that functional, technical, and documentation requirements have been met.
- Produces final integration test listings with a description of results.
Basic Qualifications:
The QA Specialist must have the following qualifications and experience:
- BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience developing complex software systems.
- 4+ years’ experience supporting software development testing and Quality Assurance
- 4+ years’ working within a software development capacity as a tester, developer, analyst etc.
- Must have a broad Quality Assurance background including Quality Planning, Quality Engineering, Quality Control, and Process Improvement.
- Must be able to provide an independent assessment of how the project's process is being implemented relative to the defined processes to optimize the current work.
- Must have demonstrated and proven skills in writing documentation, standard operating procedures, user guides, and similar products to clearly disseminate relevant information to an enterprise-wide audience to increase user awareness.
- Must have proven familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Extremely strong, proficient and demonstrated oral and written communication skills with experience working effectively with senior management officials, project management team members, and technical staff members regarding communication and system issues.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and quick turnaround deliverables, and exceptional attention to details.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with C# and/or VB.NET
- 6+ years’ Software QA experience
- 2+ years of experience in an agile environment
- Formal training in the Agile SDLC methodology
- Experience with the following technologies:
- AngularJS, REACT, JavaScript, and HTML
- MS SQL Server
- Microsoft Azure Service Fabric (Preferred)
- .Net Framework
- Experience with software/information system QA/QC
- Information Assurance (IA) Technical Level II (IAT-II) (Security+) certification as required in Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140.01
