Quality Assurance - Sanitation Technician
Quality Assurance Team
The Quality Assurance Sanitation Technician is responsible for monitoring, developing and reviewing the environmental monitoring program. Environmental monitoring program is a key program that envelopes a broad field of responsibilities which include collection of swab samples, inspection of food contact surfaces and monitoring of sanitation practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collect Listeria and Salmonella swabs
  • Collect sanitation verification swabs.
  • Prepare and send out samples to third party laboratories for testing.
  • Communicate any out of specification results to sanitation/QA manager.
  • Daily pre-operational inspection of food contact surfaces which include production, packaging machines and environment around food contact areas.
  • Communicate pre op discrepancies with production and packaging supervisors. Relay any out of specification results to sanitation management .
  • Accurately report and record results, trend entered data.
  • Ability to investigate any positive test results, determine root cause and plan corrective actions accordingly.
  • Ability to write detailed reports on any positive results. Describe and report any positive results to upper management, in plant or at corporate level.
  • Conduct daily review of sanitation paperwork (pre-op and post op).
  • Assist with CIP, CPG, Portal, and processing automation as necessary.
  • Participate during BRC audits, Internal/Corporate and customer audits as necessary.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned by the Department Manager/Supervisor.
  • Outside ground inspections. Report and add findings to internal audit template. Communicate findings to appropriate owners.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly and investigational allergen swabs. Send out samples to 3rd party lab, report and record data.
  • Attend sanitary design meetings
  • Attend equipment breakdown activities, collect samples and compose a detailed report on data collected.
  • Collect construction swabs and any validation swabs
  • Audit master sanitation schedule and verify that the schedule is being followed and completed.

Review the EMP and above mentioned programs and prepare for BRC
Safety & GMP Objectives
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA rules and regulations (THINK " SAFETY FIRST")

Ability to recognize unsage acts and conditions in the facility and implement appropriate correction actions.
Ability to fully complete appropriate paperwork related to specific job functions in addition to quality and safety/training.
Ability to recognize and report all incidents; even those that do not warrant treatment.
  • Review and execute our Food Safety Plan and MFP Mission Statement in order to provide value to each of our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products; while never comprising quality
  • Adhere to food manufacturing practices (GMP's) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.

  • This position is an early morning shift. M-W 2am-12:30pm, Th 1am-11:30am

The Quality Assurance/Sanitation Technician is supported and back up by other Quality Assurance Lab Technicians or the Quality Assurance Supervisor. Suitable training is required of this individual. The Quality Assurance/Sanitation Technician reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
