Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and Silverado EV will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these amazing products! The Role:
As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will need to understand and audit technical processes. You will have responsibility for a small group of employees dedicated to ensuring we maintain regulatory and customer quality requirements and processes. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision making, multitasking, planning, organization. You will be encouraged to facilitate and manage relationships with multiple cross functional teams through the plant.
What You'll Do:
- Manages the Quality Assurance Team
- Promotes, educates, communicates and follows up on safety initiatives
- Maintain safety standards through audits, observation and incident investigation.
- Assist in acquiring resources to effectively perform operations.
- Champion all external audits for the plant.
- Owner of the export & GCA process (Global Customer Audit).
- Knowledge of all ISO and Government Regulatory requirements.
- Planning and Business Manager coverage for the Quality Department
- Trace scorecard compliance and communication.
- Champion of allocated BPD activities, 5F meetings, and cross functional problem solving.
- Spill Tracking and document retention for problem solving
- Support unit manager to resolve workforce issues in conjunction with union.
- Handles budget and achievement of efficiency improvements.
- Implement CIP workshops in the areas of Quality & Cost.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of high-volume manufacturing experience
- 2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of quality management systems in a manufacturing space
- Knowledge of quality control procedures, manufacturing processes, and management systems as they relate to production operations.
- High level of problem solving and interpersonal skills to work optimally with others
- Technical expertise in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (CIP)

- Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
