Peoplelink Staffing has partnered with a leading manufacturer of office furniture in Sturgis, MI. We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager for direct hire.
Quality Assurance Manager Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for implementing and executing a corporate Quality Assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and that positively impacts the financial performance of Iceberg as a company. This role champion’s continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives contribute to maintaining an effective Quality Management System (QMS). Active customer engagement, evaluation of internal processes and product feedback drive ongoing development of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Salary - $85,000 - $100,000/yr
Quality Assurance Manager Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or business administration.
- Or equivalent number of years experience.
- 10 years of experience in QA systems implementation and management, with 5 years as a direct supervisor in a medium-size manufacturing environment.

Quality Assurance Manager Expectations:
- Develops, implements, manages and integrates a QMS for manufacturing plants and business components with input into the manufacturing environment.
- Analyzes customers’ product specifications and needs to establish efficient, cost-effective requirements for ease of manufacture and reproducibility.
- Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
- Develops quality planning methods for all product lines, ensuring adherence to legal and safety standards.
- Educates and trains employees including those from other areas of the organization as to their impact in the quality management system.
- Serves as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
- Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
- Designs, implements and documents procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
- Establishes and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions.
- Performs root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
- Establishes collection and performs analysis of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality.
- Manages Quality Assurance personnel on a day-to-day basis.
- Oversees calibration and testing programs.
- Reports to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
- Participates in internal and external quality audits.
- Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and ensure that effective corrective action is implemented.

Quality Assurance Manager Physical Requirements:
- Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- May occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
- Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly.
