The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership for the Plant's quality and safety function and ensure compliance with Rohrer Corporation's quality and safety management system. This person will develop & implement plans for problem solving & best practice sharing resulting in improved quality key performance indicators (KPIs). Performs all functions of personnel management of department employees in accordance with company policies.

Reporting to the Corporate Quality Manager this role is responsible for:
- Reviewing & standardizing company-wide quality processes in partnership with Plant Quality & Safety teams.
- Creates documents & communicates process modifications as needed
- Develops audit schedules to verify adherence & provides routine reporting to Plant Manager
- Actively participates in Production, Quality, & Safety Steering Committee meetings
- Reviews routine Quality performance data & initiates efforts to address systemic problems
- Manages Quality & Safety interface to proactively ensure requirements are understood & satisfied to include assisting in complaint resolutions, root cause analyses & corrective action determinations.
- Interacts directly with customers on joint process initiatives to include improvement projects, business reviews & complaint resolution
- Performs audits and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections of plants to ensure compliance with Rohrer procedures and industry best practices
- Provides coaching & develops plant management staff in effective use of quality tools such as Root Cause Counter Measure (RCCM), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) & Statistical Process Control SPC)
- Relays pertinent information in timely manner
- Represents Quality & Safety function when company-wide processes & systems are being developed
- Works with suppliers directly & indirectly through Rohrer Procurement & Supplier Quality functions
- Acts to align company goals by continually reviewing processes to create overall operating efficiencies in obtaining the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost
- Trains, coaches & mentors people & ensure direct reports support related initiatives in accordance with company personnel management policy & practice.
- Participated in special projects & performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 5+ years' quality and safety management experience
- Demonstrated leadership & interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge & experience using quality tools such as Root Cause Counter Measure (RCCM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), internal auditing & Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Experience hosting customer audits & regulatory inspections high preferred
- Demonstrated ability to field questions quickly & clearly from auditors & outside parties
- Proficient with use of precision measuring tools
- Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
- Knowledge of calibration
- Ability to read blue prints
- Demonstrated advanced skill in communication, presentation, writing & organizational ability
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge and experience within lean manufacturing and ISO 9000
