Job Summary This position is the central point for connecting the quality planning objectives and direction for the future of YNA. Also serves as the Management Representative for ISO 9001, oversees the planning aspect versus the actual quality condition of YNA. Large Project Leader for all new model activity.
Essential Functions
- Establishes Quality rules and sets the Associate education plan for Quality.
- Oversees the New Model Activity, though planning, and implementation.
- Maintains customer relations through quality results, visits, and communication.
- Works directly with the Quality Control Department for the management of customer claims, in-house scrap, training, equipment, and inspection tool conditions.
- Oversees tool calibration department, planning, implementation and progress.
- Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
- Accomplishes departmental goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending corrective action to Administration.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's or associate degree in industrial or Process Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Management or related field preferred.
Experience: This position requires 7-10 years' experience managing a diverse workforce in a mass production, manufacturing environment. Experience in a non-union environment strongly preferred.
Skills: This position requires a high level of understanding of machining and assembly processes and equipment, interpersonal skills including issue management, motivation, supervision, coaching and counseling; strategic financial planning and ability to project and track budget expenses.
Working Conditions :The position requires the ability to work in a climate-controlled office, walk on concrete floors, lift up to 20 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
Travel : This position requires occasional travel. A valid driver's license is required for use of the company car.
