Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Quality and Regulatory Assurance, the Quality and Regulatory Assurance Manager, works collaboratively with all levels and areas of the organizational Support Services, Clinical, Medical and Leadership Teams and governmental regulatory agencies to provide guidance and oversight of Quality and Regulatory Assurance for multiple MedVet hospitals typically within a multi-state region.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for development and maintenance of relationships with all federal, state, or local agency impacting their assigned hospital locations’ ability to provide the highest level of care and experience.
- Responsible for developing and sharing an understanding of all rules and Regulatory requirements for their assigned hospital locations’ day to day operations and ensuring processes are in place to meet or exceed regulatory agency’s expectations.
- Responsible for continued evaluation of the regulatory environment possibly affecting policies and/or procedures of their assigned hospital locations. When warranted, developing, and implementing modifications needed to policies and/or procedures including initial training and ongoing support of all associated team members.
- Manage QRA Team members assigned as direct reports.
- Assist the QRA Director with the planning and budgeting of QRA related projects, personnel, and possible initiatives.
- Responsible to manage and perform auditing processes to measure compliance in multiple area associated with regulatory requirements and various accreditation processes.
- Responsible for management and resolution of controlled substance inventory variance investigations.
- Provide support to the MedVet business development process as directed.
- On call coverage required
- Other duties may be assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Our ideal candidates would be either; a credentialed Veterinary Technician with a minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience including management of controlled substance utilization with general Quality and Regulatory responsibilities or an individual with seven (7) or more years of experience in the management of Quality and Regulatory responsibilities from outside of the veterinary profession. In addition, this position requires:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and facilitate effective collaboration with internal and external audiences
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong sense of culture and ability to influence behavior and drive change management
- Ability to coach, train and provide feedback
- Strong project management skills and process excellence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Teams software
- Travel 40 – 60%
