Quality Assurance Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Reports directly to the President and is charged with developing and maintaining a system to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops and implements a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.
2. Revises and updates the quality control manual to incorporate statistical control programs.
3. Develops and maintains a supplier quality index, utilizing statistical control programs, to assure that only high-quality vendors are retained.
4. Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
5. Prepares for and represents the company during all SPEAR, SQA, and related audits.
6. Coordinates and approves all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes.
7. Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel.
8. Ensures, directs, and maintains shipping of quality parts, documentation, etc.
9. 75% of this position requires being on the plant floor and ability to work in streamlining quality in process
This position will entail current and future projects inclusive of but not limited to:
Coordinate, manage and ensure successful company’s transition from current ISO 2001:2015 certification to a TS or newly formed IATF 16949 certification.
Ability to supervise, manage and direct quality department, inspectors, and facilitate all aspects of quality.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability studies will become an intricate part of the Quality Assurance program; therefore, formal education in courses related to these areas such as mathematics, statistics, and industrial practices, are essential for this position.
- Secondary education or certification preferred
- Some Quality Assurance practices as they apply to individual unique products can be learned during on-the-job training, but overall capability in this discipline must be previously demonstrated.
- Critical thinking skillset and ability to observe, suggest and implement process improvements
- Excellent to above average computer skillset relevant to Excel.
- Intermediate computer skillset in Outlook, Word
- Above Average verbal and written communication skillset
- Project Management
Compensation Range: per year/negotiable
Average Weekly Hours – 40-50 per week
