Quality Assurance Inspector

The Quality department at our Vehicle Processing Centers strives to see that standards, processes, and policies are in place and implemented resulting in top quality vehicles delivered to our customers. The team works closely with production staff to evaluate quality concerns, investigate root cause and find solutions to improve and ensure a quality product.
Quality Inspector must be knowledgeable and understand all vehicle & accessory quality standards and apply established audit processes in the production environment to identify quality concerns while maintaining production flow.
Responsibilities:

• Understand & reinforce Quality Assurance standards and audit procedures.
• Inspect product, including base vehicle, installed accessories, and other added materials (ex: manuals and brochures).
• Audit processes, policies, and procedures both established by Toyota and SET.
• Communicate inspection and audit findings to Leadership and Associates through in-person meetings and/or emails on a re-occurring basis.
• Through teamwork and collaboration, work closely with other Quality associates to ensure all areas are following process.
• Generate reports to effectively communicate with Toyota and parts suppliers that accurately identify quality concerns.
• Input and transfer data into multiple systems and applications.
• Provide support for quality hold activities (TMNA and SET).

Qualifications:

• Quality mindset with the ability to make decisions regarding quality standards. Strong organizational skills required.
  
  • Associate's current quality scores should be no less than 100% of home shop expectation.
• Excellent attendance record with demonstrated reliability in the workplace.
• Experience in multiple departments/shops is preferred.
• Be able to understand and follow the AQL inspection methodology.
• Increase interoperability by building/maintaining relationships in a professional manner through strong interpersonal/problem solving skills with various departments and the ability influence without authority on potential changes.
• Automotive Electrical, Mechanical and/or Production experience in service or vehicle maintenance preferred.
• ASE Certifications and/or College Degree preferred.
• Ability to public speak effectively is required.
• Willingness to work overtime (weekdays or Saturdays) as needed and demonstrate flexibility in addressing job duties and assignments.
• Commitment to the organization and demonstrate initiative in following through on tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, with little supervision and make educated decisions.
• Computer experience required to include intermediate experience in Microsoft Word & Excel. PowerBI experience is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors, in non-climate-controlled environments and preparedness to adapt to changing weather conditions. Daily responsibilities include working on concrete and asphalt surfaces, standing and walking, full range of motion required to inspect and assess all types of vehicles.
• Valid driver's license required; clean Motor Vehicle Record, ability to drive manual transmission vehicles preferred.
• Partner with Quality Engineers and Quality Specialist as needed to assist with identifying countermeasures for quality concerns.
• Partner with Production to coordinate calibration events on high defect accessories.
• Assist with QC activities as required.
• Willingness to rotate between vehicle processing facilities in Jacksonville as needed. Overnight travel may be required on occasion.
• Ability to meet required certification timelines as defined by Quality Department.

Candidates must be willing/able to work at our Westlake or Talleyrand VPC
Monday - Friday / 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Ability to work overtime as needed.
