PURPOSE:
Inspect all incoming shipments of assigned product groups against USDA Good Delivery Guidelines. Inspects all on-hand produce to
ensure quality meets the highest standard. Verifies all dated products to ensure the shipping date meets customer expectations on
dated products.
Job Responsibilities Percentage
- Inspects all incoming shipments of assigned product groups, as well as products stored in the
- Maintains necessary inspections and rejection records.
- Accepts or rejects product based on condition, short weight, transit damage, grade, temperature,
- May reject product without further consultation if a product doesn't meet the Company's
- Fruit Ripening
- Learn and comply with SQF and food safety policies. 60%
- Conducts daily cooler walks to verify all dated Fresh including dairy, meat, deli, bakery, poultry,
dating and verify Produce quality, reporting results to the QA Supervisor 20%
- Makes recommendations to management regarding reduction in shrink. May organize shipping
assembly via warehouse supervision.
- Ensures that shipping crews are provided with daily information on lots to be shipped. 10%
- Other departmental needs such as Data entry, return processing, cleaning, sorting, training, and other

Experience:
- 0+ years of wholesale/retail experience
- Able to learn the standards for USDA Good Delivery guidelines for Produce.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to operate or be trained and certified to operate lift equipment.
- Able to learn Fruit Ripening.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
- Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job
