Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion food items according to standardized recipes and menus
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure the quality and safety of food
- Assist with menu planning and preparation for catering events
- Collaborate with the dietary department to meet the nutritional needs of residents or customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the food preparation area
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and ovens
- Assist with meal preparation under the guidance of a cook or chef
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food preparation or a related role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to handle and use kitchen equipment safely, including knives
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Note: This position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
