Conexwest is actively recruiting a Purchasing Manager for our facility in Lathrop, CA to enhance business profitability, ensures competitive advantage, and delivers operational excellence. Responsibilities include sourcing new suppliers, ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. To be successful as a Purchasing Manager, you should be able to develop efficient procurement solutions and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies. Ultimately, an outstanding Purchasing Manager should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, be an analytical thinker, and demonstrate a good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proven ability to facilitate discussions between management and potential vendors to agree on contract terms and evaluates bids or proposals to make contract decisions
- Liaising with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations
- Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions
- Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns
- Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings
- Complying with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Must be able to maintain supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
- Ability to manage supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Degree in business administration or a related field
- Skilled in contract negotiations and legal terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel), Google (Docs, Sheets, etc.) with general knowledge of database utilization
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- High energy level, initiative, creative problem-solving ability and sense of urgency
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
