We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Associate I.
Basic Function:
The function of the Purchasing Associate I is to quote accurate price and delivery on materials, process quotes, order and expedite materials and maintain records of such, process work orders, process WCM & vendor packing slips, process material receipt discrepancy and related processes.

Purchasing Manager
Purchasing Associate II
The Purchasing Associate I interface with:
Purchasing Personnel, Customer Service Dept., Document Control Dept., WCM Engineers, Receiving/Stockroom personnel, Quality Control, Accounting Department, Production Managers, COO and CEO.
Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Associate I has the responsibility to do the following:
- Obtain the best cost and shipping dates on supplies and materials ordered from vendors.
- Create quote price and delivery spreadsheets with complete, accurate and precise information.
- Order supplies and materials from reliable vendors with favorable price and delivery.
- Accurately process work orders.
- Correct inaccuracies or request inaccuracies to be corrected.
- Process material receipt discrepancies and related processes accurately.
- Accurately process WCM & vendor packing slips.
- Be precise on data entries.
- Expedite materials as needed and make sure expedite notes are documented accurately and precisely.
- Produce clear, accurate and precise paperwork/records as needed.
- Maintain filing of history records/documents.
- Execute all processes in an accurate and timely manner and as per reference guides/work instructions/training.
- Work as a team player, so in the end our customer receives a quality product in a timely matter.
- Help train processes as needed.
- Contact vendors to quote and order supplies and materials.
- Process data entries for physical counts, transfers, issues, adjustments and receipts as needed.
- Produce clear and accurate paperwork.
- Follow all related WCM procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
The Purchasing Associate I will be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following is accomplished:
- The Purchasing Associate I consistently has above average work performance including attendance which exceeds company averages.
- The worker maintains a productive working relationship with the Purchasing Manager & purchasing team, supervisors, management as well as other personnel.
- All work is completed in a timely manner.
- Degree of closeness to zero defects resulting from discrepancies.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures including West Coast Magnetics Personnel Policy Manual, Illness and Injury Prevention Program, Quality Assurance Program, as well as other documented policies.
- Full compliance with all duties and responsibilities.
- Has proven to have good work ethic through reliability, commitment, and good quality of work.
Minimum Requirements:
- One year minimum experience.
- High school diploma
- Ability to use Windows Office software
- Ability to produce quick and accurate paperwork
- Understanding and demonstrated use of WCM processes or capable of quickly learning WCM processes
- Demonstrated ability to utilize WCM ERP system software for basic purchasing processes or demonstrated familiarity with WCM ERP system
- Have proven ability to learn processes and systems quickly
- Have proven to produce clear and accurate paperwork/documents
