Summary

The Purchasing Senior Associate is responsible for procuring, exporting, and importing various types of food items including produce, seafood, and processed food products from various parts of the world. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for multifaceted, self-motivated individuals or well-trained professionals with strong organizational and communication skills who are excited about being an integral part of our business and helping to run it smoothly while developing their personal and professional skills as a merchandiser.

Job Scope and Responsibilities

• Identify, locate and source food products for export to Korea and other countries while also importing raw materials for CJ affiliates and other customers in the States, following general guidance.
• Identify and establish relationships with potential suppliers and customers, while offering assistance in the preparation of RFPs (*Request for Proposals)
• Administer new vendor setup process and requisite necessary documents.
• Administer communication with vendors and customers, resolve issues between trade partners, and escalate the issues to the supervisor when deemed necessary.
• Foster and maintain strong professional partnerships with suppliers and customers to ensure pricing, product quality, and sales terms meet company standards.
• Monitor inventory and place routine purchase orders to ensure the product is available for the time of sale.
• Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
• Prepare, maintain and update purchasing files, reports and price lists to ensure accurate inventory reporting and traceability.
• Analyze sales data to aid purchasing decisions and strategies.
• Act as liaison with inter-departments and companies so that operations and other related parties are aware of shipments, price, and product changes.
• Prepare ad hoc reports as necessary for HQ Korea
• Perform other Purchasing/Sales related duties as required and assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
• 3-5 years of purchasing-related experience with 2 or greater years as a Purchasing Senior Associate
• Strong knowledge of industry market trends and conditions
• Excellent knowledge of financial best practices and the buying process
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to create a strong working relationship with personnel, suppliers and management
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
• Proficiency working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoints)
• Bilingual strongly preferred (English: Professional Level /Korean: Intermediate Level)

Pay: $67,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
