Purchasing Assistant - Merchants Market (West Palm Beach)

We're located in West Palm Beach Florida, St. Thomas USVI, St. Croix USVI, and Anguilla BVI.
Job Summary:
The purchasing Assistant's primary job would be to work with our purchasing team, acting as a secondary point of contact for new and current vendors. Your main responsibilities will include managing and updating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and updating our internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts).
Essential Functions:
• Working with a Category Manager to streamline the operation of the purchasing department.
• Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities.
• Understands established purchasing agreements with vendors and monitors their performance.
• Utilizing quarterly and annual data to assess purchasing needs and conduct inventory management.
• Effectively managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules, and maintaining accurate purchase records.
• Working with warehouse staff to reconcile deliveries with purchase orders to identify any discrepancies.
Required Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Training or experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other computer applications.
Physical Requirements:
• Able to work in an office environment and lift up to 35 pounds.
