The primary responsibility of the Purchasing Agent/Buyer involves purchasing goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procdures. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate with internal site managers and external vendors in order to procure needed goods for the organization. Reporting to the , the Purchasing Agent/Buyer will respond to the needs of the company, ensuring compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements to assist our employees and keep company operations running consistently.
Job Duties Include:
- Representing the Mission, Vision and Values of Noble Environmental through action and presentation
- Creating a culture of high professional and ethical standard, where dignity, respect, inclusion, integrity and compassion are the standard.
- Support multiple locations, both remotely and on-site
- Effective in utilizing Microsoft Office and regularly navigates QBO and ERP
- Utilizing excel and other software in order to track purchases and project future needs
- Communicates regularly with vendors and internal site managers to form strong relationships and meet needs
- Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products with attention to specified target market and demographics.
- Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Negotiates contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Assesses financial risks of purchases.
- Attends trade shows, product exhibitions, and conferences to maintain understanding of new products and trends.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, or related field
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 or more years of purchasing and supply chain experience.
- Self-starter
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have a basic understanding of industrial equipment and parts
Working Conditions:
- Hours and weekly schedule are dictated by current tasks and needs
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
- May require travel.
