Job Summary
The Purchasing Agent will participate in forecasting and procuring the goods and services needed to support manufacturing demand. This candidate must have experience in a manufacturing environment with 1 year of experience in a manufacturing purchasing role preferred. The successful candidate will have both manufacturing and supply chain experience.
Responsibilities:
- Purchase goods, materials, and components in line with the specified costs, quality, and delivery targets
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
- Assist in identifying sources and develop/maintain supplier relationships including negotiating of terms, communication of expectations and measuring performance
- Liaison with counterparts in Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure alignment of activities and objectives
- Solicit competitive quotes from vendors as needed and make decisions based on cost, quality, and timeliness
- Quickly resolve and/or escalate issues related to cost, quality, delivery, or service when the product delivery goals may be in jeopardy
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
- Explore alternate sources for goods and materials as needed
- Contact suppliers purposefully to resolve price, quality, and delivery or invoice issues

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
