Who You Are:
- Skilled at writing clear and original PR content (case studies, technical articles, whitepapers, Q&As, executive viewpoint articles, thought leadership pieces, press releases, media alerts as well as scripts for speaking opportunities and executive panels).
- Experienced at interviewing subject matter experts and developing thoughtful questions to ask during interviews to get to the heart of the story. Ability to change direction as the conversation dictates.
- Writer who can review client-provided material and collaborate to help craft strategic story angles.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients, their subject matter experts, sales representatives, and customers to obtain information necessary to complete writing assignments. Communication may occur via Zoom, phone, email or in person.
- Write compelling PR content that aligns with client guidelines and PR best practices.
- Create content that benefits our clients, the editors we work with, and industry audiences.
- Continually educate yourself about client technology (including products and services) and industry trends.
- Collaborate with PR Managers and other writers to develop attractive story angles and professional, educational content pieces.
- Works as a collaborative member of the team, follows internal Godfrey processes and contributes ideas that benefit the agency and our clients.
- BA/BS degree with a concentration in digital communications, marketing, advertising, Public Relations, social media, journalism, technical writing, or liberal arts.
- 5+ years of professional writing experience, preferably in a PR, digital or social media position (client or agency side) or related media position, e.g., reporter, editor, blogger, web/e-content writer. Experience in HVAC, technical fields, or advanced technology business is a plus.
- Clearly demonstrated ability to work well with internal and/or external stakeholders. .
- Understand the principles of business-to-business marketing communications and how paid, earned, social and owned media are integrated into digital marketing communications..
- Ability to work on multiple client projects and manage deadlines and project budgets accordingly.
- Strong understanding of AP style and excellent proofreading skills.
