We are based in San Francisco, with offices in New York, Boston, and Chicago. However, we are also open to hiring in the following states: Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.

About the role:
Highwire Writers are the front line of content creation for client deliverables. Writers move between accounts and content formats so that they can service all clients with equal capability. They become mini subject matter experts on client verticals and subtopics so that they can craft content from a place of understanding and authority. As such, Writers must have exceptional writing, research, and time management skills, as well as the ability to receive and internalize feedback from peers, managers, and clients. A Writer II can write for all client verticals with ease, and has mastered the planning and execution of long-form content (ebooks, guides, etc.).

Responsibilities (Writers will be expected to be able to perform any combination of the following):

  • Create content deliverables including, but not limited to blog posts, ebooks, bylined articles, social media copy, emails, and solution pages
  • Exhibit proficiency with complex client verticals
  • Exhibit mastery of all Highwire content offerings (e.g., landing pages, nurture email sequences, ebooks, press releases, thought leadership, bylines, etc.)
  • Display the ability to craft thought leadership that reliably meets client approval
  • Display proficiency with data analysis and/or survey design
  • Display reliable understanding of Content Marketing strategy in general, and specific to each client
  • Write 4000-5000 words weekly
  • Revise copy in response to internal and/or client feedback
  • Manage work hours effectively in order to meet weekly assignment deadlines
  • Adhere to current company standards and best practices for content creation (e.g., optimizing content for SEO)
  • Ideate concepts, storylines, topics, etc.
  • Research client verticals and subtopics
  • Conduct interviews when necessary
  • Gain proficiency with Highwire suite of tools, including: Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.), Slack, and others as needed
  • Collaborate with members of Client Ops team as necessary
  • Attend biweekly 1:1 meetings with supervisor
  • Attend daily standup departmental check-ins and other ad hoc meetings as necessary
  • Attend weekly company all-hands meeting

Role Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in a professional writing role
  • Mastery of AP style
  • Exemplary organization and time management skills
  • Someone who is able to work in front of a computer screen and type for the majority of the business day
  • Someone who is available to work Monday through Friday during standard business hours in a U.S. timezone (PT/MT/CT/ET)

Preference for candidates with

  • Experience in the B2B technology space (or a passion for emerging technologies)
  • Experience in web media or digital journalism
  • Experience in remote work environments
