Located in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont, Rowan County is attractively and conveniently nestled between the state’s largest city and its Capitol. Rowan County is made up of more than 20 departments and nearly 1,250 employees that are committed to providing a wealth of services to County residents and businesses.

The County is currently accepting applications for the position of PTB Library Associate I. This position provides reference services using print and electronic resources; plans and presents technology based adult programs; assists with information requests from patrons; 20 hours per week; evening and weekend work required including most Saturdays.

Requires general knowledge of library practices and procedures; knowledge of reference tools; knowledge and experience with technology including personal computers, tablets, internet, cloud computing, social media platforms and other electronic personal devices, the ability to prepare and present programs to the public; and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Requires an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, or related field and one year of experience working in a library or public service setting, or highly responsible administrative experience. Customer service experience preferred. All degrees/coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.

Pay Rate: $16.26 - $17.88 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
