PT - Front Desk Clerk, TRIO Talent Search/Upward Bound (Internal Only)
SALARY:
$ 15.00 per hour
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Customer Service experience
- Computer/word processing experience; and
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and database software
- Experience with and sensitivity to the issues facing low-income and first-generation students and their families in overcoming barriers to postsecondary education
- Experience with TRIO or related programs
- Fluency in Spanish

- Work flexible schedule to meet program objectives as needed
- Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
- Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of the general proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and standard office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
- Ability to work mostly independently or with little direction

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Provides reception and admin support to Upward Bound and Talent Search Programs.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Serves Students. Compiles and maintains confidential, accurate, up-to-date student records, which include: documentation of eligibility, student academic records, contacts, exit information, follow-up information, etc. students in compliance with federal regulations. Input contact logs, CRPs, etc. in the database.
Create flyers for program activities and events; prepare and send mailings to participants/parents; Create content and maintain social media accounts; assist with activities and event preparation and set-up.
Answer telephone, take messages accurately; and maintain an office atmosphere conducive to meeting the needs of program participants. Make reminder calls to participants and parents; Provide information to students, staff, and the public.
Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
