We strive to be a community problem solver, and have carefully and intentionally focused our efforts on some of Florida's most urgent behavioral health and human services needs. In addition to providing the full-range of evidence-based behavioral healthcare services to all ages, Henderson is also committed to creating and managing a system of housing for adults and children.
We operate over 650 housing units throughout the South Florida region; including supportive housing, permanent housing for those with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders, a safe-haven and emergency homeless shelter, residential treatment and group home care.
Henderson Behavioral Health has distinguished itself both nationally and internationally as a center of teaching, learning and research. We train over 60 interns per year, including graduate psychology interns, social work interns, mental health counselor interns, and medical interns.
We have recently been selected to participate in several national, NIMH research projects; including one of the original 57 sites for the CATIE trials (the nation's first head-to-head comparison study of first and second generation anti-psychotic medications), and most recently the RAISE Study, also funded by NIMH.
The RAISE study is arguably the most important research project addressing early psychosis and schizophrenia in the past 15 years. Henderson maintains the highest level of CARF accreditation, and has done so, continuously for twenty years.
