PROSPECT RESEARCH COORDINATOR

Hiring Salary Range: $25.00-29.00 / hour (commensurate with experience)
THE ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES
The Prospect Research Coordinator is a member of the fundraising team within the Office of Advancement and reports to the Chief Development Officer. The primary objective of this position is to, through prospect and donor research, discover and feed to the department's fundraising team the most viable major and principal gift prospects in support of the College's ongoing Comprehensive Campaign. The incumbent will, on an as-needed basis, provide research support for Foundation Board fundraising initiatives and produce prospect summary reports for the department. The Prospect Research Coordinator, as a byproduct of their efforts, will also assist the Advancement Operations team by keeping research and prospect records accurate and up to date.
Typical duties and responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Using Prospect Research platforms and public database resources, proactively conduct research and capacity measurement and assessment to discover the most viable major and principal gift prospects for external facing fundraisers.
- Actively and regularly review and update fundraiser portfolios, ensuring that they are comprised of the most viable prospective donors based on any number of characteristics including, but not limited to, wealth capacity, philanthropic intent, geography, practice area, funding interests, etc.
- Support the College's Foundation Board and associated fundraising initiatives by providing prospective donor research and solicitation lists as needed.
- Assist with departmental pipeline management by producing prospective donor summary reports illustrating individual and overall giving potential.
- Generate and update prospect related data regularly including wealth screenings, giving history, prospect/donor biographies, and general Prospect Research.
- Conduct wealth screenings on prospects and donors in preparation for fundraising events, campaigns and/or targeted solicitations.
- Complete research profiles on specific prospects and donors, as requested, compiling wealth and biographical summaries.
- Assist the Advancement Operations team by keeping research and prospect records accurate and up to date.
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Prospect Research or development experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Raiser's Edge (NXT) or similar relationship database strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Prospect Research platforms such as Donor Search, Research Point, Wealth Engine.
- Ability to utilize and navigate public database resources to discover information relevant to the identification of new major and principal gift prospects.
- Organized, detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively and independently. Project management experience a plus.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple simultaneous priorities.
- Strong sense of discretion when dealing with confidential or sensitive information.
