Process Engineering Testing Intern

We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate intern to join our EMS Process Systems team in San Diego, California.
This position is available for undergraduate students to participate in supervised practical training in a professional field. The position assists in the completion of routine and non-routine tasks; assists in the analysis, investigation and solution of problems; and assists in developing electronic and hard copy documentation as required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under general supervision, will assist in the performance of pilot plant testing of the supercritical water oxidation technology to confirm destruction of a variety of waste feed streams. Responsibilities include feed preparation, liquid sampling, analytical sample preparation, and assisting with equipment maintenance and instrumentation upgrades.
• Will require participation in safety training to ensure safe operations.
• Will assist in the download, preparation, evaluation, and documentation of test data.
• Must be able to perform general lifting of materials and equipment (<35 lb) and may be required to occasionally climb ladders to perform duties (<6 ft).
• Will work in a team environment.
• Will be required to occasionally present results in a meeting format.
• Participates in the day to day activities of assigned functional area assisting in the completion of routine and non-routine tasks.
• Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve problems.
• Assists in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams and charts.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Job Qualifications:

• Typically requires enrollment as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university. Chemical Engineering major preferred, but other engineering disciplines acceptable
• Must possess the ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.
• Requires the ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures;
• Requires basic communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal professionals.
• Requires the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Mechanical skills (e.g., car mechanic or similar) are a plus.

This position pays at an hourly rate of $26.00
