Position Overview:
The Proposal Writer is responsible for preparing proposals for potential customers by writing concise and persuasive proposals that are customized to the customer. The Proposal Writer will take ownership of each proposal project from obtaining an RFP through final proposal submission.
The successful candidate will be able to craft proposals in a clear and compelling manner. Excellent writing and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and highly-organized. A high level of computer literacy required, including facility with knowledge databases and basic application software. Candidates must possess the ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek, synthesize and communicate information in a compelling and succinct manner.
Essential Duties:
- Analyze RFPs for response requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Develop proposal outline and response timeline.
- Collaborate with Sales and other internal teams to develop response strategy and garner pricing approvals.
- Create persuasive and accurate initial drafts for each RFP with responses compliant to each requirement (including text and graphics).
- Format text and images for adherence to internal style guide.
- Interview internal subject matter experts for customized text as needed.
- Gather "appendix" materials as needed (research studies, technical reports, etc.).
- Monitor RFP addendums continuously for potential process or requirement changes.
- Maintain version control at each stage of proposal draft iteration.
- Report project status to management.
- Perform final electronic and hard copy edit of all proposal drafts, reviews and versions.
- Follow-up on submitted proposals to determine final award outcome
- Recommend process improvements.
- Peer review other writers' work as needed.
- Support team members as needed.

- Have strong digital skills and aptitude, including proficiency with computers and basic applications software including Concur, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Six years of experience in proposal writing, business writing, or technical writing.
- Proposal or technical writing specific to Ed Tech industry preferred.
