Responsible for performing and reviewing financial valuations, discounted cash flows, basic project level GAAP financial statements, and other analytics necessary to support the development of renewables and other distributed generation projects for AEP OnSite Partners. Support the internal due diligence review of investment opportunities and ensure that all project risks/rewards identified are appropriately modeled. It is expected that in addition to addressing the project economic models, this position will offer data driven insight and recommendations to the development and project execution teams on how a project could be better structured, arranged or organized.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Perform project level financial analysis for asset based deals and opportunities. Pro forma work will be DCF based, but needs to reflect GAAP earnings impacts. Models should include risk assessments using sensitivity analysis.
2) Directly support development team with deal valuation and structuring capabilities. Utilize understanding of risk, finance, tax, and accounting rules to maximize value creation for customers and the company. Work closely and communicate effectively with the development to iteratively reach the best solution for customers while driving deal value.
3) Provide development support through researching market and regulatory opportunities in support of structuring new products for development.
4) Support the development team through helping to manage and facilitiate the internal due diligence review to ensure all internal stakeholders are receiving timely communication and information is disseminated in and efficient and effective manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements are listed below: Bachelor's Degree in economics, finance, or mathematics
Work Experience requirement listed below: Minimum 3 years relevant work experience preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Physical demand level is Sedentary. MBA and or Chartered Financial Analyst preferred Enterprising attitude with strong self-motivation. Strong business acumen and curiosity. Able to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently under tight deadlines; must thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
