The position will apply your academic knowledge and solid understanding and experience with standard practices and techniques used when working with data and GIS projects to support and manage projects that include geohazard assessments, environmental assessments, groundwater remediation, water resources, geotechnical construction, and more.

- Performing project or task management and management of personnel carrying out GIS tasks;
- Carrying out GIS projects using ESRI ArcGIS software (Version 10.x) used to store, visualize, and analyze spatial data, with a particular focus on geohazards data management for extensive, long, linear infrastructure;
- Compiling, verifying, analyzing, and reporting large and diverse datasets;
- Designing, developing, and producing data visualization outputs using ArcGIS;
- Developing comprehensive workflows and metadata to automate compilation of data from multiple sources and serve data to maps, reports and other tools;
- Processing and displaying LiDAR datasets for use in remote sensing mapping applications;
- Using and understanding geographic positioning system (GPS) equipment for data collection and facilitating field data collection through ArcGIS applications and Survey 123;
- Participating in client-needs analysis; and developing current knowledge of GIS technology and software;
- Interacting with internal and external clients to support database management and data visualization for projects and coordinating collection and transfer of data to project databases; and
- Providing proposal preparation support.
- Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, science, or geology. (required)
- GIS professional certification or formal GIS training. (preferred)
- At least 7 years of technical training and experience in ArcGIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, ArcPortal, ArcCollector, and Survey 123. (required)
- Experience with the front-end processes of collecting field data with various GPS units and the process of downloading and compiling the data. (required)
- Experience working with LiDAR data, including processing, storing, and displaying large datasets for use in remote sensing applications. (required)
- Direct experience managing environmental, geologic, and geotechnical data collection. (required)
- Knowledge of server architecture and web technology. (preferred)
- Ability to automate processes using tools and scripts (e.g., Python, ArcGIS model builder). (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
