This role develops enterprise data solutions that support the organization in achieving its strategic goals. Your work on data collection, analysis, and integration using cloud data pipelines will advance our enterprise data capabilities. The position reports into our IT Data Engineering department and is a part of academic integrity projects that align with key strategic initiatives to meet SEI’s business objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead internal customers through defining their information needs to deliver robust solutions that support data driven operations, actions, and decisions for academic integrity functions.
- Translate information needs into technical designs for data solutions including data transformation, metrics, and reports.
- Develop reports and data sets to support business processes.
- Test data deliverables and perform data quality checks to verify data integrity for processes that use them.
- Document data cleansing, extraction, transformation, and load processes.
- Inventory new data sources that have potential to contribute to academic integrity projects and conduct pilots.
- Manage the academic integrity product feature request backlog and maintain a roadmap that identifies the different work streams of technical and academic efforts.
- Support development and maintenance of ETL data pipelines with SQL and Python based transformations running on our Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Support the improvement of existing business processes leveraging data and consumption patterns.
- Acquire a broader set of technical capabilities that can support academic integrity projects and scan the market for products that can provide incremental value.

Job Skills:
- Strong data analysis skills including defining and reporting key metrics.
- Experience in creating visualizations and presentations in Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and a continual quality assurance mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex business intelligence terminology and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and staff.
- Strong relationship-building, customer service, and problem resolution skills.
- Skilled at writing and updating documentation.
- Familiar with relational and dimensional database design, theories, principles, and practices.
- Familiar with streaming and batch data engineering patterns
- Knowledge of CI/CD and pipeline automation tools and agile software development.
- Works effectively in a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.
Work Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in gathering and communicating complex analytical business requirements in a simple and easy to understand manner to others
- 3+ years of experience in designing and building data visualizations
- 3+ years of experience SQL, data transformations, data model design, and/or data validation
- 1+ years of experience in data warehouse design and/or data engineering
- 1+ years of experience with development tools, ex. Gitlab
- Experience with GCP Big Query
- Experience with Python for data development purposes
