TRC desires to hire a remote Project Manager 1 to support NYSERDA's Single-Family Residential Program to specifically manage NYSERDA's Empower Plus Program. The Empower Plus Program supports New York's Low-income sector across the state.
This is a remote position in the New York Market; Albany preferred.
The Primary Responsibilities, and Minimum and Preferred Qualifications for this PM 1 are listed as follows:
Manages a portfolio of energy efficiency and clean energy projects.
Manage statements of work, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Responsible for managing clients and contractors.
Responsible for making decisions on selecting new projects and terminating projects that are not performing.
Responsible for providing program and project status reports and updates to NYSERDA Senior Managers.
The successful candidate will support NYSERDA's Single-Family Residential team in with customer and contractor engagement, including following customer concern issue resolution protocols. Key tasks of this position will include the following:
Assist NYSERDA Project Managers in handling customer concerns and complaints resulting from participating contractor work quality and customer engagement.
Respond to general program questions from participating contractors and customers.
Collect project details from various NYSERDA systems.
Drafting written communications, emails and letters, to program participants and support the tracking of metrics and reporting on accomplishments.
Update and maintain electronic files, help create and maintain program documents, such as standard operating procedures, provide general assistance to Project Managers with routine tasks and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in environmental studies, business management or a related field, and 1 to 3 years of experience in the Single-Family Residential and Low-Income sector.
- Candidates having experience being a BPI Building Analyst, BPI Building Envelope Professional or BPI Heating Professional Certifications, or equivalent industry certifications - preferred.
- Residential building science and clean energy technologies in the residential retrofit sector is required, and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Salesforce is also required.
- The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work both independently and with teams and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with various stakeholders, customers, contractors, and implementation contractors across New York.
- The candidate needs to be highly organized and detail oriented, has strong work ethic and integrity, robust writing skills and the ability to effectively track multiple projects at various stages.
- Has well developed understanding of relevant technical principles and their application to a program area. Develops/formulates Deployment issues, problems and needs in at least one technical area. Has acknowledged expertise at conceptual level of technical skills and knowledge in at least one program area. Has basic understanding of State energy/environmental economic development issues
- Has developed and managed projects with little specific direction. Develops new projects and co-funding sources with own initiative. Carried out development of several projects through competitive solicitation phase that may or may not result from own initiative. Has provided ideas and rationale for program development in at least one technical area.
- Has demonstrated ability to implement projects in a timely manner. Demonstrates the capability to manage all aspects of on-going projects with no supervision. Is able to prioritize workload with other responsibilities. Effectively discharges general technical and project management assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates strategic thinking connected to the organization’s goals
- Has demonstrated ability to effectively head working groups or program teams. Provides guidance to junior staff when appropriate and can supervise the day-to-day work of interns. Has full confidence of peers and superiors. People skills have developed to show leadership and an ability to motivate others
- Has demonstrated ability to produce both written material and verbal presentations that are direct, recognize and focus on issues, are both comprehensive and concise and require editing only in most sensitive and complex areas. Is able to negotiate effectively with contractors and interface effectively with customers and other outside contacts. Has demonstrated ability to prepare and present papers at professional meetings, seminars and conferences.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $60,000-$70,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
