Project Manager Estimating

JOB SUMMARY*
The Estimator position is one that calculates cost of construction for plans. Scopes of work include: estimating flooring, showers/vertical and countertops. Estimators also create shower/tub line drawings and provide supporting documents for Project Managers and Field staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Download architectural plans
• Do take offs and enter measurements into estimating software to get quantities to figure costs
• Enter costs for materials and labor
• Create support documentation depending on builder requirements (colored flooring & countertop Minis, and etc.)
• Create additional drawings to accompany paperwork submittal
• Create bid templates and proposal for submittal to builder clients when needed
• Learn flooring operating system

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• High School Graduate
• Relevant field experience / understanding of the building industry
• Knowledge of flooring field operations /installation (preferred not required)
• Knowledge and understanding of countertop template layouts, bidding (preferred not required)
• Knowledge to read and understand architectural plans
• Proficient in Microsoft Office platforms
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas and creating template knowledge preferred)
• Experience using ‘take-off’ software
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Responsible and reliable person
• Good communication skills
• CAD experience (preferred not required)

• Mostly casual office work environment, with a typical business schedule of Monday through Friday 7AM – 4PM. May have contact with vendors/customers over the phone, but mostly through email.
