Project Manager, Engineering Services

Actalent Services (formerly EASi LLC) is hiring an Engineering Project Manager for a leadership role supporting Engineering Services engagements within our Defense Industry vertical. Preferred candidates will be local to Actalent's engineering center in Fort Worth, Texas and possess both defense industry and aerospace engineering expertise.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple Actalent projects through all phases of development, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control and closure. The Project Manager will work closely with program management to procure or hire Actalent employees/consultants for projects and with other internal support functions to provide leadership and direction to our project teams and ensure all projects meet their Cost, Quality and Timing requirements. This role requires maintaining and growing relationships with key Aerospace and Defense customer stakeholders and Actalent’s onsite/offsite engineering team members to enhance project performance in support of customer business goals.

This role can require up to 20% travel while also offering hybrid flexibility.

Essential Functions

• Manage multiple center-based/onsite managed projects through all phases of development, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control and closure while following Actalent’s Services Management Framework
• Ensure compliance to customer specifications, quality standards, regulatory requirements, company work rules and procedures and safety requirements
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules and documentation including change management, risk mitigation and reporting
• Develop tracking methods to monitor customer and internal KPI's
• Work closely within Actalent's Delivery Operations to align project management with account management and resolve all project, finance issues with customer as appropriate
• Distribute workflow from customer to Actalent project delivery team(s).
• Maintain a high level of relationships with all customer stakeholders
• Utilize program management skills of communication, presentation, time management, organization and planning to successfully achieve program goals and objectives
• Conduct periodic status meetings with customers and team to assess progress against the plan
• Prepare and deliver status reports to Actalent Services' management and appropriate client recipients

Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related engineering discipline required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, systems engineering or electrical engineering related roles. Prior mechanical and/or electrical design experience necessary for success in role.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering project management experience. Prior Services experience leading outsourced projects is a plus.
• Aerospace (military applications) and Defense industry background required; familiarity designing aircraft frames, compartments, structures and/or avionics, necessary to lead successful projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to write statements of work (SOW's) required
• Prior mentorship and/or lead experience in identifying and facilitating team training needs and assigning appropriate levels of work to individuals with commensurate experience/skills
• Process development experience to identify and implement processes where gaps exist
• Ability to effectively communicate and present to customer groups, lead design review meetings and manage client expectations
• Strong organizational and time management skills; demonstrated leadership abilities managing dispersed team members with diverse engineering skillsets
• Ability to travel as needed, up to 20%
• PMP Certification a plus; proven knowledge of project management methods required
• Highly proficient in PC applications (MS Office suite of tools).
• Knowledge and experience supporting and leading projects meeting ITAR compliance.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
