Job DescriptionAssist the Librarian for African and International studies in receiving, processing, assessing and promoting materials related to African, French, Italian and Global Studies.
Duties Include:
Staff the International Collections department service desk.Search the library catalog for books in English, Italian and selected African languages (i.e., Kiswahili, Yoruba, Wolof, Arabic).Create lists of books in English and other languages.Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to helping with book exhibits, fact checking, compilation of data, updating LibGuides, etc.Required QualificationsCurrent KU student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.Ability to work independently as demonstrated by application materials.Basic familiarity with KU Libraries collections and services as demonstrated by application materials.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of French, Italian, or any African language.Working knowledge of of second language.Demonstrated ability to use library resources (e.g. library online catalog and other electronic bases).Familiarity with online content management systems.Strong communication skills.Familiarity with online content management systems.Video editing skills.Data entry.Additional Candidate InstructionsAttach a cover letter outlining how you meet the required qualifications, along with a resume and 3 references.Contact Information to ApplicantsKodjo Atiso
