Job Description
We are a growing general contracting company representing both tenants and landlords across the continental US. We are based out of Queens, New York and are looking to continue our expansion by hiring talented professionals, specifically to fill the position of Construction Project Manager.
The Construction Project Managershall have seasoned NYC commercial construction knowledge, extensive industry relationships and advanced proficiency with regards to construction management process across all trades. Furthermore, it is imperative that the candidate demonstrates the ability to multi-task, work under pressure both independently and in a team environment, seek creative means to problem-solve and be passionate and energetic about their work product. Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Project Management Staff by taking an active role and support construction management jobs
- Your involvement will be across all phases including pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction services
- Identify and focus on critical issues related to constructability including associated costs and logistical issues
- Write work orders, purchase orders and change orders, develop procurement logs, review and manage submittals / RFI's, conduct meeting minutes and weekly job updates, coordinate permitting and special inspections.
- Ensure that jobs are completed according to schedule and meet profit goals
- Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors and instill this philosophy within the team at all times
- Review subcontractor and vendor invoices throughout the lifecycle of the project and approve for payment or negotiate appropriate changes
- Keep consistent lines of communication open with clients and proactively share project progress and budget matters
- Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems as needed
- Ensure punch list completion
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Construction Project Management experience, strong preference for retail construction experience
- Knowledgeable in site safety as dictated by OSHA and DOB Creating and processing
- RFI's using Procore or similar technology Scheduling, document management and financial proficiency
- Excellent MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills required
- Proficiency with MS Project or equivalent Procore or experience with a similar software
- MasterBuilder or Sage 100 experience is required.
