About this RoleFiberTel is hiring a Project Manager for our Salt Lake City, UT location.
The Program Manager will work directly with the VP of Operations. She/he will have a thorough understanding of designs & specifications and will guarantee compliance with such. This position will estimate work of specific projects by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. The Project Manager will manage change orders, daily reporting, procedures, and the overall project progress.
What You'll DoResponsibilities:
- Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients, engineers, and architects
- Calculate the cost estimate of all project tasks and accurately manage the project budget
- Plan and schedule the entire construction project, including construction operations and timelines to make sure project deadlines are met
- Acquire the appropriate licenses and permits from the corresponding authorities and ensure construction is up to code
- Manage internal construction crews who report under you
- Work with general contractors, critical subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts
- Manage general contractors and construction workers and give guidance as needed to ensure high-quality project performance
- Communicate the status of the building project to key stakeholders by providing regular progress reports
- Put organizational systems into place to ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are well-maintained, and schedule maintenance if needed
- Prevent injuries, slowdowns, and project risks by demanding complete adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites, and reporting safety regulation issues promptly
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Prior construction experience (Comcast experience preferred but not required)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and applicable Engineering programs.
- Good Written and oral communication.
- Possess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Aerial and Underground construction.
- Field experience with OSP Construction.
- As-built and invoicing experience.
- RUS experience a plus.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in both office and field environments with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. This job routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally spend time outside the office when meeting clients or need to check on vehicles.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders.
