Project Manager

Smith Construction, Inc is looking add to an Assistant Project Manager to our growing team. We are looking for a reliable individual to assist in overseeing projects and supplying bids/estimates to customers.

Responsibilities may include but may not be limited to:

• Project layout and staking
• Assisting the primary Estimator with supplying bids/quotes to potential customers
• Reviewing change orders for projects in progress
• Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion
• Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
• Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
• Coordinate and direct company employees and subcontractors
• Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
• Meet contractual condition of performance
• Review the work progress on a daily basis
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to the job status
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
• Analyze, manager and mitigate risks
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

Requirements and Skills

• Proven working experience in construction management
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, mean and methods
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
• Understanding of all facets of the construction process
• Familiarity with construction management software
• Ability to plan and see the "big picture"
• Competent in conflict and crisis management
• Leadership and human resources management skills
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Fluent in CAD software and design criteria
• Understand basic CPU programs: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Project, Etc.

A BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field is preferred but not required. Smith Construction, Inc is able and willing to train the ideal candidate for this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
