Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking a Project Engineer - Electrical to join their team. Ensure consistent attendance while overseeing the design, construction, and improvement of equipment and facilities within the industrial manufacturing plant. Collaborate with various departments to solve daily challenges, evaluate project bids, and manage construction activities. Monitor project costs, compliance with regulatory agencies, and adherence to construction standards. Drive efficiency, quality, and safety in projects, and contribute to the development of long-term plans for layout changes and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Design or approve designs for expansions and modifications to existing equipment and facilities.
Coordinate construction activities on the plant site, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
Evaluate bids from outside contractors and monitor project costs and schedules.
Prepare estimates and Return on Investment (ROI) for plant expansion projects.
Review and recommend approval of proposals, ensuring efficient production methods.
Follow completed projects to ensure anticipated benefits are achieved.
Expedite project segments to avoid delays and institute cost-reduction programs.
Specify materials and equipment, recommend proper use, and appraise technological developments.
Maintained engineering records, prepared reports, and ensured staff proposals considered efficiency, quality, and safety.
Participate in the development of new products, recommend materials and equipment, and examine processes for efficiency.
Supervise and participate in the design and development of machinery and equipment.
Recommend capital expenditures and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Coordinate construction activities with facility departments, interfacing with other engineers and managers.
Develop and maintain relationships with other departments for effective project execution.
Provide continuous communication on project status and support preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
Recommend spare parts and ensure effective turnover of engineering documentation at the end of each project.
Support the update and control of PSM-related engineering documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering degree (or closely similar BS degree).
Minimum of 3 years of Project Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated strong people skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate.
Proven ability to thrive and contribute within a team environment.
Adherence to prompt, regular, and dependable attendance standards.
Preferred Proficiencies:
AC induction motors and controls.
AC variable speed drives.
Motor Control Centers.
PLC experience.
DCS experience.
Three-phase power systems.
Instrumentation, including:
Valves.
Flowmeters.
Pressure transmitters.
Temperature transmitters.
pH transmitters.
Design documents such as:
Single line drawings.
Control drawings.
Instrument loop sheets.
P&IDs and Instrument Data Sheets.
