Purpose:
Scott-Long Construction Project Engineers provide technical support to project teams on multiple commercial building projects of varying size and complexity. Project Engineers ensure project teams are equipped with all necessary information and resources to manage a successful project from start to finish.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage information and document flow
- Facilitate communication among all members of the project teams
- Maintain construction documents
- Facilitate submittal, change order and RFI process
- Attend meetings and visit job sites as required to manage construction progress
- Prepare and process correspondence such as RFIs, submittals and document distribution
- Supervise project start-up
- Supervise project close-out
- Prepare and monitor change document process for project managers
- Complete initial RFI drafting for PM review
- Administer the submittal process
- Thoroughly understand the estimating process
- Project scheduling
- Purchase orders, owner contracts and subcontracts
- All other project-related administration duties as assigned
- Develop skills to become a Scott-Long Project Manager
Required Experience & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or 5+ years experience working for project teams in Commercial Building Construction
- 1-3 years of experience in construction project management
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication, time management and prioritization
- Proven ability to manage high level of detail throughout the project lifecycle
- Relationship-driven, collaborative and comfortable working in team environments
- Willingness to learn construction project management skills and develop into
Project Manager role
Desired Skills & Abilities:
- 1+ years working for a Commercial GC in the Washington DC metro market

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
