Position:Project Engineer
Position Summary: Responsible for supporting Project Managers, Construction Managers, and the design team, aiding project execution from concept estimate through final commissioning, certification, and closeout. Duties encompass all aspects of project management and delivery, including procurement, submittals, RFI’s, meeting minutes, contract document management, and final turnover packages & warranty.
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Directors of Integration.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Support Project Teams with procurement, estimating support, and buy-out of projects:
· Investigate and generate bidders lists for projects.
· Solicit subcontractor and vendor bids using bid packages and RFPs.
· Evaluate bids for commercial and technical compliance to our bid packages / RFPs.
· Organize bids and perform initial technical and commercial comparisons between bidders.
· Perform material and drawing takeoffs.
Collaborate with Document Control and Project Managers to seamlessly distribute project documents to vendors and subcontractors, while also offering invaluable support to Construction Managers for smooth mobilizations to new project sites, encompassing:
· Safety and project site requirements (e.g., office trailer, support, signage, supplies, connectivity).
· Project-specific Spec Books.
· Project-specific Drawing Sets.
· RFI, submittal, and commitment documents.
· Establish a Material Tracking Log tailored to the specific project.
Participate with Project Managers to establish key deliverables for the success of the project, including:
· Assisting with project schedule development and ongoing updates.
· Assisting with drawing revision distribution and tracking.
· Create submittal logs and track submittals throughout the project.
· Processing RFIs from subcontractors and AdvanceTEC field personnel.
· Writing and distributing meeting minutes in a timely fashion.
· Direct interactions with the client (in-person, team calls, and phone calls).
Assist the Project Team with project closeout and client satisfaction by:
· Generating project closeout materials and providing them to clients in the required format.
Skills, Experience, and Qualities Required:
· A bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering is strongly preferred but not required.
· Passion for technology, construction, and AdvanceTEC’s business community is required.
· A strong desire to learn, grow, make a positive impact, and advance one's career is important.
· A vibrant, optimistic, positive person who wants to make things happen. Team player who can work with our leadership team, designers, project and construction managers, safety, and quality.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Teams), Procore (cloud-based PMS platform), Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam are required prior to hiring.
· Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Location and Travel Requirements:
· This position will be based out of our Richmond, Virginia office.
· This position will require travel to active project client sites. Project sites are typically located on the east coast of the United States, but may be located in other regions in the US (e.g., Midwest, Southeast, West) or Canada based on ideal client projects that AdvanceTEC pursues and secures.
