Position Summary...
The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing all engineering and technical aspects of a project during the product development cycle. The Project Engineer will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the activities of a project while providing design assistance, NRE services and support to our Sales Team allowing them to grow business with new and existing customers. This includes assuring project accuracy, effective communication with internal and external customers, advance product quality planning, and conformance to customer requirements from conception to production.
Here is what you will do...
- Serves as a positive role model consistent with Polos corporate culture at all times.
- Works closely with all internal departments in all locations to proactively and efficiently drive projects through all stages of design, development and into manufacturing, with guidance from the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Product Development Manager as well as support and input from Polos Division Managers and Product Development Designers.
- Interfaces with people of all responsibility levels in our customers organizations and serves as their liaison throughout the life of assigned projects.
- Keeps abreast of the trend of technology; investigates and installs most effective methods of manufacturing to keep company at competitive edge at all times.
- Proactively communicates project scope and status or other relevant details to appropriate parties as needed.
- Works cooperatively with Polos manufacturers representatives as needed to understand the customers design requirements and expectations.
- Travels overnight to Polo sites, manufacturing partners, customers and vendors as needed.
- Gains a complete understanding of the manufacturing processes within all Polo facilities as well as a thorough understanding of the manufacturing processes of Polos vast supply chain.
- Ensure consistency is being met across all divisions in terms of processes, communication style and goals.
- Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternative. constructions. Investigates and finds solutions to problems.
- Works with production, product development and quality to ensure DFM, DFA and APQP principles are integrated into all new products early in the design and development phase.
- Coordinates with production and product development personnel regarding ideas, drawings and products as well as external contact with customers and vendors in the development of designs to resolve problems and find solutions.
- Accountable for proper documents saved to project iles and thorough design notes within the project folders.=.

- Supports the Product Development Teamin the transition from project to productin once asorder is places by the customer.
- Assists in supplier visits, product design meetings and customer calls.
- Ensures that internal and external customers needs are always met by providing customer service and design assistance.
- Works and trains in other areas & departments as needed.
- Ability to flex schedule when required to meet customer deadlines and business needs.
