This position is responsible for planning utilizations of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations while also providing support for the Warehouse Management System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of people and equipment.
- Coordinate and foster continuous improvement in the facility; facilitate 5S and Lean initiatives.
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment and purchase of equipment.
- Design processes/systems that comply with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications.
- Direct integration of technical activities and products.
- Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Prepare interim and completion project reports.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements (technology, methods, flow path, etc.) to maximize workflow and spatial utilization. This includes feasibility studies and time studies.
- Provide facility layout drawings to communicate proposed and implemented facility changes.
- Conduct research, plan and prepare proposals for approval relative to procurement of capital equipment, major maintenance projects, service contracts etc. while meeting established deadlines.
- Analyze methods and procedures to ascertain the most efficient way to perform all warehouse tasks.
- Ensure skills, abilities and knowledge evolve to keep pace with changes in technology, our industry and specific job requirements.
- Continually meet and exceed personal goals and objectives in support of departmental and business goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement database solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering required; 3-4 years related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, blueprints, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to speak effectively to employees at all levels of the organization and to communicate with other facilities by phone and electronic communication forms.
- Use mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply these concepts to such tasks as analysis of variance, correlation, techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. Ability to calculate fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical settings.
- Critical thinking skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer skills including but not limited to a working knowledge of Microsoft office packages with special emphasis on use and development of Access databases.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discrete manner.
