Job description

Position Information Screening of candidates will begin December 18th. North Dakota State University's Office of Research and Creative Activity houses the ND EPSCoR office, which works to strengthen research and STEM capacity throughout the state. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will provide strategic administrative, logistical, budgetary, financial, and programmatic support to the ND EPSCoR program.

Financial and budgetary support duties may include establishing budgets, financial projections for budget planning, ensuring compliance with funding agency requirements and university policy, tracking spending for subprojects and subawards from funding managed by ND EPSCoR, managing and monitoring budget process including requesting subprojects/subawards and monitoring their set up through NDSU's electronic research administration system (Novelution), utilizing Peoplesoft and other NDSU databases/software to submit invoices for payment, track expenditures, approve budget modifications, and other duties as assigned. Administrative, logistical, and programmatic support duties may include assisting in implementation and administration of programs managed by the office (e.g. STTAR program and STEM Teaching Assistantships), managing agreements with external contractors, serving as liaison in a variety of areas (e.g.

project personnel on project reporting and financial reporting, Sponsored Programs, Grant and Contract Accounting, Purchasing, Payroll, and Accounting), providing assistance related to project expenses and other job functions, working with other staff to coordinate and support proposal processes (both internal and external) and report development, maintaining appropriate level of confidentiality for information and communications received by office, providing back up for the Administrative Coordinator with regard to ND EPSCoR and grant/collaborative agreement activities including coordinating internal team meetings, external meetings including External Advisory Board and State Steering Committee meetings, and other meetings, as needed, and other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: 40 hours per week: 8am-5pm [academic year] and 7:30am-4pm [summer/winter breaks] - 12 months per year Advertised Salary: Commensurate with experience Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in business, accounting, project coordination, or similar discipline and three years of related experience Evidence of efficient and effective oral and written communications Technical acumen as demonstrated by experience and fluid understanding of desktop programs, including Microsoft Office Suite for word processing, spreadsheet and database management, emailing, and presentations Ability to organize and synthesize quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources and adapt to changing needs should they arise Demonstrated logistical skills and experience in project coordination or grant coordination Exceptional attention to detail, with emphasis on accuracy, follow-through and adherence to deadlines Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of related experience Experience with electronic records administration and/or Peoplesoft Experience with federal grants and/or collaborative agreements Applicant Materials Required: Resume Letter of application describing your relevant training and experiences applicable to the minimum and preferred qualifications listed in the job posting Names and telephone numbers of three professional references in a separate document attached as "Other Document 1" Benefits: NDSU offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes single or family health insurance coverage with premiums paid for by the university - with an effective date for new employees the first of the month following date of hire.
