The Innovation Solution Specialist position plays a key role in developing activities to research, pilot, and deliver commercial solutions related to specific innovation technology focus areas. This will help to lead Bobcat into the future and help maintain and strengthen a leadership position in a global market.
Innovation Solution Specialists are tasked with managing activities under the core Innovation pillars. Activities within these pillars range from introducing new features or business models to developing an entirely new product. This position is expected to lead project teams and work directly with functional leads to execute daily project work.
The Innovation Solution Specialists are expected to be key contributors within the Activity Management Team, supporting the Solution Manager and Innovation team as a whole to drive activities to the next level.
Role & Responsibility
Innovation Solution Specialists will often support multiple activities and teams. These individuals will be required to utilize project management principles consistent with industry best practices while staying flexible and agile within the Innovation processes. Project scope definition, resource management, schedule development, and risk management are all areas of project management that you will be a part of. Activity and Solution execution is a strong focus area for this role.
Project Management
- Assist in defining timelines and deliverables for features sets. Provide cross functional collaboration and alignment to ensure tasks and deliverables are being completed
- Assist in development and maintain a requirements document that specifies the deliverables required for specified Bobcat vehicles, including a “road map” of technologies that can enable required functionality
- Work with 3rd party developers and start-up firms partnered with Bobcat company by providing technical support and direction as needed and required per agreement definition
- Assist acceleration team with the development of pilots and “concept demonstrators” to gain internal and external (customer) feedback
- Report results and progress to Innovation Solution Manager. Provide recommendations for select technologies that may fit current technology roadmaps and identified customer needs

- Use innovative approaches to solving problems, engaging team, devising courses of action for the development of new techniques or processes, and refashioning existing courses of action where the opportunity for innovation is limited by a large volume of accepted practice.
- Foster a culture of creativity and support diversity of thought, innovation, and excellence within the department.
Employee Engagement and Talent Management
- Inspire, engage, empower employees to create a culture of creativity, innovation and timely development of world class products.
- Identify and remove roadblocks on projects so employees can effectively execute project plans.
- Demonstrate how to build relationships across departments to enhance collaboration. Recognize team failures as learning opportunities and coach employees through project hurdles.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, management or related degree.
- 3 - 5 years experience
- Ability to quickly assess different technologies, plan and execute customer pilots and demonstrators
- Proven experience leading and developing teams to achieve successful product launches and/or product improvement/optimization with one or more of the company's products or product functions.
- Experience in both traditional waterfall processes as well as Agile methods is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of the product development and validation processes and customer needs achieved through in-depth experience with a variety of the company's products, dealers and customers.
- Ability to work with internal and external departments to remove roadblocks, resolve conflicts and move projects forward.
- Creative and visionary approach to projects with ability to influence innovation across multiple organizations and levels through technical aptitude and understanding of team's strengths.
- Travel – 10 - 15%
