Overview of KaiPod and the Position
By partnering with microschool founders and running our KaiPod Catalyst Fellowship, KaiPod Learning (https://www.kaipodlearning.com/) empowers a decentralized network of individuals committed to enriching school choices in their communities. Catalyst Fellows are launching or operating microschools with diverse models such as Project Based, outdoor, faith-based, or "gifted" programs.
We are seeking an innovative and passionate Project-Based Learning (PBL) Consultant to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting small microschools across various regions in implementing and enhancing project-Based Learning curricula. As an independent contractor, the consultant will collaborate closely with educators and school leaders to design, develop, and facilitate engaging, real-world learning experiences that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students. As a Project Based Learning Specialist, you will directly support microschool founders looking to implement a project-based model.
Primary Responsibilities
- Professional Development: Provide ongoing professional development, coaching, and support to microschool partners on PBL planning, assessment, and best practices.
- Feedback: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of PBL initiatives, offering feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Sharing Ideas and Resources: Actively participate in our Slack community by sharing valuable ideas, resources, and best practices for implementing PBL. Engage with and provide timely responses to questions and discussions within the Slack community, facilitating a collaborative environment.
- Meeting with Founders: Conduct one-on-one meetings with microschool founders to discuss their specific PBL needs, offering tailored advice and strategies for effective implementation.
Job Qualifications/Key Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- At least 3 years of experience in implementing project-Based Learning in an educational setting.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of how to achieve excellence within a Project Based Learning model
- Proven background in teacher training and professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with educators at all levels.
- Creative, adaptable, and passionate about transforming education through innovative teaching practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead students to an exceptionally high level of academic achievement and create dynamic and joyous classroom environments.
- Open to feedback. Prioritizes their growth and personal development.
- Quick to identify and communicate challenges. Equally as quick to propose solutions and options.
- Experience in homeschooling or school choice movement is preferred.
Details
- This position is as an hourly independent contractor with an anticipated amount of time starting at two to five hours per week.
- The hourly pay rate for this role ranges from $75 to $110, depending on experience and qualifications.
